QREX Announces 2009 Events

The QREX event prospectus is now officially in circulation. With so many things to see and experience you’ll wonder how you’re going to fit it all in.

Spanning five days from 20 - 24 July 2009, QREX will provide all the information you need to get updated and involved in the Central Queensland resources industry. Every day will offer a new experience with a trade exhibition, education and employment showcase, industry tours, regional industry and lifestyle briefings and social events sure to keep everyone occupied and entertained!

The International Industry Conference kicks off the week on Monday 20 July with a panel of speakers discussing the big issues and challenges facing the global community, including energy security, diversity and a low carbon future. Then take part in the Industry Tour Program from Tuesday 21 – Thursday 23 July where industry experts from Rockhampton, Gladstone, Blackwater and Mount Morgan will give you the opportunity to witness first-hand the issues, infrastructure and innovations discussed in both the International Industry Conference and Regional Industry Conference. The Regional Industry Conference on Friday 24 July will highlight the issues facing Central Queensland industry and discuss the strong resource sector growth within the region over the past decades and what is necessary to see this growth continue.

The QREX Trade Exhibition will run from Tuesday 21 - Thursday 23 July and is organised by Reed Exhibitions, Australia’s leading resources sector events manager. A trade-only event, it will provide the latest innovations and newest technology from a wide range of suppliers, allowing visitors to compare products and services – all at a single venue, with equipment, products and solutions tailored precisely to the needs of their particular market.

Tuesday 21 – Thursday 23 July will see the inauguration of QREX’s newest centre, the Australian Resources Careers Market (ARCM). Free and open to everyone, the ARCM is your chance to learn about the broad range of careers available within the resources industry and what training, education and recruitment opportunities exist to help you enter into these fields.
Any business with an interest in training, education and recruitment in the resources industries and beyond are invited to display their products and opportunities. QREX Foundation Sponsor CQUniversity Australia will be a major exhibitor, alongside government bodies, training companies, education institutions and recruitment agencies.

Social events will feature throughout the week, giving you a chance to network with colleagues and enjoy the warm Central Queensland hospitality and relaxing lifestyle. The program includes the QREX Welcome Reception, the Hypothetical back by popular demand, the Great Western Rodeo and Dinner, free Community Celebrations and the Q150 QREX Lunch. The highlight of the social events will be a QREX-exclusive cocktail function at Champion’s Brock Experience, Australia’s largest collection of Peter Brock cars and memorabilia that will delight the inner race driver in everyone.
