QREX Launches into 2009

The Queensland Resources Expo (QREX) is a timely reminder of the potential that Central Queensland holds despite the current economic hardships.

Mayor of Rockhampton Regional Council, Cr Brad Carter on Monday March 9 officially launched QREX 2009.  QREX 2009 will be held in Rockhampton from July 20-24.
The launch kicked off the events of QREX 2009, which will celebrate the contributions the resources industries have made to Central Queensland and focus the spotlight on the future of the region.

“A major event on the Queensland calendar, QREX is a coup for the region, positioning Central Queensland as a major international destination for the mining and resource sectors to meet, exchange ideas, witness new technology and generate new business prospects,” said Cr Carter.

“The event will bring major resources companies together with potential suppliers and service providers from around Central Queensland and Australia in an event that will stimulate local and national industry growth in a time of global economic uncertainty.

“It is important in today’s economic climate to have a long term perspective with regards to the resource industry. It’s great to see such a strong interest from exhibitors at this year’s QREX, I believe it highlights the strength of our region’s economic stability,” he said.
